Tidy swaps & small fixes — done safely
This service covers minor, non-emergency and non-notifiable electrical work only. We’re not qualified electricians and don’t replace consumer units or add new circuits. However we do have 10 years experience working in the electrical industry. Typical jobs include like-for-like accessory swaps, simple fault tidies at the faceplate, and neat light fitting replacements.
What we can do
- Replace sockets, switches & faceplates (like-for-like)
- Swap light fittings, pendants, shades & pull-cords
- Fit bell chimes & basic doorbell transformers (like-for-like)
- Fit fused connection units (FCU) for appliances where appropriate
- Tidy cable trunking & refix loose surface boxes
- Replace worn flexes, cord grips & lampholders on fittings
- Basic fault tidy at the accessory (loose terminals, damaged faceplate)
What we don’t do
- No consumer unit/RCD work or rewire
- No new circuits or circuit extensions
- No EV chargers, showers, cookers or immersion circuits
- No work in special locations (e.g. bathroom zones) beyond simple accessory swaps where permitted
- No testing, certification or Part P notifications
- No emergency call-outs
Before we visit
- Tell us what you want to swap/fit and share clear photos of the existing wiring at the faceplate.
- Let us know if your board has an RCD/RCBO and where the main switch/isolator is.
- Have the replacement accessory or fitting ready (we can advise on compatibility first).
- Ensure safe access to the area and enough lighting while the circuit is isolated.
Important: This is a handyman-level service. If on inspection a job needs a qualified
electrician (e.g. new wiring, bathroom zone work, circuit alterations or certification), we’ll advise you to use a
registered electrician and can refer you if needed.
FAQs
Adding a fused spur is considered notifiable work under Part P which means you will need a qualified electrician to fit a fused spur.
No. We don’t issue EIC/EICR certificates or notify work. For notifiable or certificated work, please use a registered electrician.
Only very limited accessory swaps may be possible depending on zone and protection. Many works in bathrooms/outdoors
are restricted; if in doubt we’ll recommend a qualified electrician.
You can supply your own accessories, or we can source common items (sockets, switches, pendants, FCUs).

We can tackle simple accessory-level issues (e.g. loose terminals, damaged faceplate). Deeper diagnostics and testing
require a qualified electrician with proper test equipment.
We have years of electrical experience despite no longer holding the qualifications which means we are capable of fixing a range of electrical accessories. Some devices like TVs are often not considered repearable due to their complex electronics. If in doubt please ask if we can look at your accessory.
